Rt. Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has hailed the resilience and ‘incredible’ performance of the senior female national football team, Super Falcons.
In a congratulatory message to Super Falcons on their winning the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Meranda described the victory as heartwarming and a sign of gretaer things to happen to Nigeria.
The Super Falcons came from two goals down in the first half to defeat Morocco 3-2 on Saturday night.
The victory made it a record-extending 10th WAFCON title for Nigeria.
According to the deputy speaker, “this victory is a huge testament to your determination and dedication to motherland.”
“This super victory has not only brought glory and joy to millions of Nigerians, but has also rekindled the undying spirit that Nigerians all over the world are known for. By this, you have lifted the hopes of a new generation of young Nigerians who are striving to actualise their dreams in various fields of endeavours.
