Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful, Dr. Moshood Wasiu Abiola, has expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for honouring Ibadanland with his historic presence at the coronation and official presentation of the staff of office to the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Alayeluwa Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (ARUSA I).
Dr. Abiola described the President’s presence as a golden moment in history, a mark of profound respect for Ibadan’s heritage, and a testament to the administration’s recognition of the strength of Nigeria’s traditional institutions.
“On behalf of the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State at large, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dear President for gracing this royal ceremony. His presence was more than symbolic; it was a resounding message of unity, respect, and solidarity with our culture and tradition,” Dr. Abiola stated.
Highlighting President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, Dr. Abiola reassured Nigerians that the current economic pains will soon give way to long-term prosperity.
“Our economy is no longer in comatose. The reforms initiated by Mr. President are bold and necessary, and already, the green shoots of progress are becoming visible. I appeal to Nigerians to remain patient and hopeful, for the sacrifices of today will become the prosperity of tomorrow,” he said.
The APC governorship aspirant further praised the Olubadan-in-Council, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade Elewu Etu, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, Ibadan Mogajis, governors, lawmakers, captains of industry, diplomats, and distinguished guests whose presence elevated the occasion.
“Your support and attendance added splendour and prestige to this momentous event. It reflects the unity, mutual respect, and shared vision that bind us together as Nigerians,” he remarked.
Dr. Abiola concluded with a message of hope and leadership, assuring the people of Oyo that his aspiration is to build on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by driving inclusive governance, empowering the people, and advancing development across the state.
