…Tokunbo Wahab Reaffirms Commitment to a Safe and Regulated Lagos

The Lagos State Government has intensified its efforts to maintain order and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, as enforcement teams conducted a comprehensive night patrol across key areas in Lekki and Victoria Island.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this development in a statement via his official X handle. He noted that the patrol covered strategic locations, including Emma Abimbola Cole Street, Admiralty Way, Chevron Drive, Ligali Ayorinde, Alfred Rewane, and other critical hotspots.

According to the Commissioner, 54 individuals were arrested during the operation for violating established regulations. Wahab emphasized that the initiative aligns with the state government’s commitment to creating a safe and regulated environment for all residents.

“These efforts are part of our unwavering commitment to maintaining order, promoting public safety, and ensuring compliance with the environmental and social standards that define a Greater Lagos,” Wahab said.

He reiterated the government’s determination to foster a city where everyone can thrive within a secure and regulated framework, calling on Lagosians to play their part in building a better Lagos.

The Commissioner concluded with an appeal for collective responsibility, noting, “Together, we will succeed in creating the Lagos of our dreams.”

The enforcement operation underscores the Lagos State Government’s proactive approach to addressing environmental and security challenges in its bid to uphold public order.
