In a bid to enhance accessibility to healthcare facilities in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq spearheaded a significant project in 2021.

The project involved the allocation of N14 million for the construction of an interlock access road in Eruda community, specifically linking Makama street to Eruda Cottage Hospital.

The necessity for such a project stemmed from the deteriorating condition of the road over the years, which posed challenges to residents and patients alike.

Despite its significance as a vital link between various areas such as Baba-oko and Taiwo, the road had fallen into disrepair, making navigation difficult, especially during adverse weather conditions.

However, following a thorough inspection of the project site in October 2023, it was evident that the initiative had borne fruit. The completion of the road construction significantly improved accessibility, easing the burden on residents and enhancing connectivity to essential services like healthcare.

Residents, such as Isiaq Adam, expressed their gratitude for the positive change brought about by the project. Adam highlighted the stark contrast between the previous condition of the road and its current state, emphasizing the relief it has brought to the community.

Additionally, he noted the newfound convenience of having an alternative route, which has further facilitated movement within the locality.

Community elder Muiz Soliu commended Governor Abdulrasaq’s administration for prioritizing projects aimed at improving community development. Soliu emphasized the integral role played by initiatives like the interlock access road in fostering progress and addressing the needs of the populace.

The Governor’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and facilitating access to essential services shows a proactive approach to governance. The successful completion of the interlock access road project in Eruda community reflects the administration’s dedication to improving the lives of Kwara State residents.
