The Association of Political Consultants Africa (APCA) is proud to announce the nomination of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, as the recipient of the esteemed Democracy Award. This award will be presented at the 7th Africa Political Summit & Diamond Awards, taking place December 11-14, 2024, at Lux Marijani, Zanzibar, Tanzania.

The Democracy Award recognizes political leaders who have made significant contributions to
democratic leadership, development, and governance. Governor Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated
exceptional leadership by building the capacity of state secretaries and improving governance
structures within Lagos State. His efforts have set a benchmark for effective governance and democratic practices.

This award is one of the three prestigious accolades presented by APCA. Governor Sanwo-Olu joins
an illustrious group of past recipients, including: Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia; President
Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria; and President William Ruto of Kenya.

The 7th Africa Political Summit & Diamond Awards will bring together political leaders, consultants,
