… Tokunbo Wahab Leads Enforcement Action

The Lagos State Government has sealed three properties on Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island, for improper disposal of building materials, constituting an environmental nuisance. The action was carried out during an inspection led by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, alongside senior management staff from the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.

In a statement posted on his X handle, Wahab announced, “While on an inspection tour of Lagos Island earlier today with the management staff of @LasgMOE, properties on 65, 68, and 124 Adeniji Adele Road were ordered sealed for dropping building materials on the road and constituting environmental nuisance.”

A video shared by the Commissioner showed heaps of sand and cement scattered across the road and clogging the drainage system, exacerbating environmental issues in the area. The government emphasized its commitment to enforcing environmental regulations to ensure a cleaner and safer Lagos.

The sealed properties will remain closed until the owners comply with the state’s environmental standards.
