…Annual Tradition Launched After Successful Event Featuring Games, Prizes & Political Solidarity
The vibrant spirit of Ileya filled Mushin as the inaugural OJ Falana Ileya Fun Fair drew crowds to New State High School on Palm Avenue. Held opposite the Falana Family House, the event transcended mere festivities, becoming a powerful catalyst for community unity, engagement, and tangible empowerment.
The fair garnered strong grassroots support, attracting prominent figures led by Hon. Toyin Fayinka, Member of the Federal House of Representatives for Mushin Constituency 2. He was joined by party leaders from all 10 Wards of Mushin, underscoring the event’s role in fostering local cohesion and political engagement.
A vibrant atmosphere of color and excitement welcomed attendees of all ages and backgrounds. Participants enthusiastically engaged in a diverse array of games, including: Snooker, table Tennis, ludo, draft (Checkers) and numerous other traditional and modern games.
Beyond recreation, the Fun Fair incorporated a significant empowerment element: winners of the game competitions received financial rewards. This initiative transformed the celebration into a platform for local economic support and recognition.
Speaking on behalf of the Falana Family, convener Mr. Owolabi Jamiu Falana expressed profound gratitude to the entire Mushin community, Hon. Fayinka, APC leaders, Community Development Association (CDA) leaders, friends, and family for their unwavering support. He then made a pivotal announcement: “This event will now become a yearly tradition for the entire Mushin community.”
