… Seun Faleye Leads Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund support for accelerating key deliverables of the FCSSIP25 Initiatives
In a strategic move to modernize Nigeria’s public sector, the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) is playing a crucial role in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP25).
Under the leadership of Managing Director, Oluwaseun Faleye, the NSITF has aligned its mandates with the key objectives of FCSSIP25, aimed at improving the welfare of civil servants.
Faleye noted that NSITF’s mandates which is focused on providing workplace insurance, compensation, and safety nets for workers aligns with the broader reforms of FCSSIP25. “Our focus is to ensure that civil servants are not only motivated but also protected and secure in their careers leading to increased productivity in staff output and enhanced service delivery,” he stated.
NSITF’s collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Federal Civil Service is set to drive the Value Proposition for Civil Servants pillar, which emphasizes enhanced welfare, job satisfaction, and working conditions for government employees.
The NSITF Managing Director will be leading the sub-committee on Employees’ Compensation under the Value Proposition Pillar War Room. The War Room was set up by the Head of Federal Service, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, to drive accelerated implementation of Civil Service Reforms in the next 9 months, meeting weekly, reviewing processes and polices and engaging with key stakeholders towards the acceleration of key initiatives geared towards improved staff welfare and productivity.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting, Mr Faleye noted that “we are prepared to assist in the institutionalisation of the Employees’ Compensation Scheme in the Federal Civil Service and indeed in other non-treasury funded Departments and Agencies of Government as well as at the sub-national levels because we know the benefits of the Scheme and the potentials that exist to drive up motivation in the Service and the public service in general. We will be engaging the key stakeholders across multiple MDAs to ensure the widespread aboption of the Scheme, as well as embark of massive advocacy to explain these benefits to civil servants. Part of our efforts will be to ensure that appropriate budgetary provisions are made for FG’s contributions towards the sustainability of the adoption of the Scheme and on our part we are ready to provide dedicated attention to the claims and compensation requests that will emanate from the public service in order to ensure a seamless implementation. This in our view will be a win-win scenario that will ultimately bring about job satisfaction and increased productivity in the public sector”
