Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, has extended warm congratulations to Prof. Segun Gbadegesin, a renowned democrat, on being conferred with the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued by Senator Buhari in the early hours of today, he commended Prof. Gbadegesin for his outstanding contributions to the development of Nigeria’s democracy and his commitment to public service.
The Lawmaker described the conferment as a well-deserved recognition of Prof. Gbadegesin’s dedication to the nation’s democracy, growth and development.
“Prof. Gbadegesin’s award is a testament to his tireless efforts in promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria. I am delighted to congratulate him on this well-deserved honour,” Senator Buhari declared.
He noted that Prof. Gbadegesin’s achievements served as inspirations to Nigerians, particularly the youth, to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to the nation’s development.
The Legislator also commended President Tinubu for recognizing and rewarding outstanding citizens who have made significant impacts in their respective fields and contributed in no small ways to the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
According to Senator Abdulfatai, the conferment of the national honour on Prof. Gbadegesin is a testament to the President’s commitment to acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in various spheres.
