NSITF Pushes for 100% Enrolment in Employees Compensation Scheme
…Seun Faleye Leads Campaign for Full Coverage of Construction Workers
At the 68th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Construction Industry (FOCI), Seun Faleye, Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), made a clarion call for 100% enrolment in the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS) for all construction workers.
Faleye stressed the importance of full ECS enrolment, noting that despite recent progress, thousands of workers remain unprotected. “Our collaboration with FOCI has resulted in more companies enrolling, but this is not enough. We must ensure every construction worker, regardless of their employment status, is covered,” he said.
He further shared that NSITF had expedited claim processes by 50%, making it easier for injured workers to receive support in a timely manner. Faleye’s call for action shows his commitment to the safety and welfare of workers across Nigeria’s construction industry.
