The outstanding performance of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has not only made the state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) irrelevant and steamless; it has also turned it into a fake news factory with their directionless and visionless party members falling over themselves on who will share the fake news first.

When AbdulRazaq was sworn in in 2019, members of the PDP thought he would be another underwhelming performer like the former governor AbdulFatah Ahmed, who was quizzed recently by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N10 billion that got missing from Kwara’s coffer in his tenure.

But AbdulRazaq disappointed them with his exemplary leadership and exceptional pro-masses government, which has now written his name in gold. His reelection in the 2023 general elections was payback for his outstanding performance across sectors, including education and health.

The Kwara PDP, realising that the governor is not in the class of ex-governor Ahmed and their amunibuni leader, resorted to generating fake news against him, thinking that would make Kwarans withdraw their support for his government. Instead, their support increased as some have even formed the habit of dispelling PDP’s fake news.

In the last seven days, a number of Kwara PDP’s fake news have been dispelled, including the annoying and disrespectful doctored video of a protest in the palace of our revered Emir and the one in which they alleged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other governors of receiving N30b from Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

When the former Minister of Youth Development Sports and Sports, Bolaji Abdullai, said in a recent interview with one of the leading Nigerian newspapers that Kwara PDP had run out of ideas and therefore couldn’t win any serious election in the State, this is what the author of Sweet Sixteen and chieftain of the PDP means.

Kwara PDP is like a toothless dog that can’t harm but bark. No matter the volumes of fake news they generate from their factory against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, he will continue to deliver good governance and increase his pro-masses interventions.
