The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has unveiled its 2025 Centrepiece programme, a vibrant celebration of international cinema featuring 55 films from nearly 50 countries, including Bolivia, Brazil, France, Iraq, Kenya, Poland, Taiwan, and Thailand. Running from September 4–14, 2025, the 50th edition of TIFF, presented by Rogers, will highlight a diverse array of world-class films, including 19 world premieres and notable North American and international premieres.
The Centrepiece programme, a cornerstone of TIFF’s commitment to global storytelling, includes works from acclaimed filmmakers such as Mathieu Denis (The Cost of Heaven), Hasan Hadi (The President’s Cake), Jan Komasa (Good Boy), Anders Thomas Jensen (The Last Viking), Richard Linklater (Blue Moon), Pietro Marcello (Duse), and Christian Petzold (Miroirs No. 3). The lineup also features rising talents like Álvaro Olmos Torrico with The Condor Daughter, a Bolivian story about a young woman balancing her dreams with her cultural heritage, and Gail Maurice’s Blood Lines, a Canadian pastoral drama exploring family reconnection.
Highlights include:
● World Premieres: Erupcja by Pete Ohs, a Polish-American thriller starring Lena Góra and Charli XCX; I Swear by Kirk Jones, an inspiring true story about John Davidson’s life with Tourette Syndrome; and Youngblood by Hubert Davis, a tribute to the late Canadian filmmaker Charles Officer.
● North American Premieres: Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon, Christian Petzold’s Miroirs No. 3, and Ugo Bienvenu’s French animation Arco.
● International and Canadian Premieres: Pietro Marcello’s Duse and Aneil Karia’s Hamlet round out the prestigious selections.

Diana Cadavid, International Programmer for Latin America, Spain, and Portugal, added, “These films push boundaries and tell stories that resonate universally.”
TIFF’s 50th edition continues to solidify its reputation as a global leader in film, with an estimated annual economic impact of $240 million CAD.
