As today, 23 August, 2025 marks a viral milestone in the life of Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, the momentous occasion has been identified as a testament to Soun’s remarkable and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.
The above declaration was contained in a press release issued by Senator Buhari Abdulfatai Ph.D representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the Senate and a leading contender in the Oyo State’s Governorship race ahead of 2027 general elections.
According to Senator Buhari in the release signed by his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Prince Semiu Azeez, Oba Ghandi’s visionary guidance has offered Ogbomosoland unparalleled innovations that have elevated its status in Oyo State.
According to the Lawmaker “Kabiyesi, your dedication to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the kingdom has earned you widespread acclaim. Your passion for unity, peace and progress has created a sense of hope and belonging among our people in Ogbomoso.”
While rejoicing with Soun on his 64years of existence on the surface of earth, Senator Buhari said his leadership in the city has been marked by significant strides in development which included the inauguration of 25-year development plan that has given hope and direction to the city, laying a foundation for future generation to build on.
Senator Buhari declared that the revival of the Ogbomoso Cradle Festival has created a platform for heritage, tourism and economic empowerment, uniting sons and daughters of the city worldwide.
“As we celebrate the Soun’s 64th birthday, I wish him many happy returns of the day on the throne of his forefathers. May God grant Kabiyesi long life, sound health and continued wisdom to lead Ogbomosoland to greater heights, Amen,” Senator Buhari prayed
