In a show of efficiency, the Joint Security Team of Kwara State, comprising the Nigerian Police Force and local Vigilantes, successfully intervened to foil a kidnapping attempt in Alo Village, Ifelodun Local Government Area.
The swift response of the security operatives resulted in the neutralization and arrest of a gang of suspected kidnappers who had launched a daring attack.
The coordinated efforts of the Joint Security Team involved a thorough search operation in the surrounding bush, leading to a confrontation with the criminals.
During the ensuing exchange of gunfire, one of the perpetrators was neutralized, while two suspects, identified as Saidu Soliu and Soliu Abass, sustained injuries.
Subsequently, five individuals believed to be involved in the nefarious activities were apprehended.
They have been identified as Ibrahim Muazu (30 years old), Asimu Salisu (25 years old), Aminu Alaka (25 years old), Aminu Temino (20 years old), and Zakariyau Suleiman (20 years old).
Among the items recovered from the suspects were two fabricated locally made guns, along with twelve live 7.62mm AK47 ammunition and eight expended 7.62mm AK47 ammunition.
Additionally, authorities seized one empty magazine, a cutlass, and several plugs.
The case is currently under investigation, with the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Victor Olaiya psc+, assuring the citizens of Kwara that every effort is being made to ensure that the perpetrators face the full force of the law.
