…Governor AbdulRazaq, Governor Ododo, APC Chairman Fagbemi, others Pay Tributes
The late Chief of Staff to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Prince AbdulKadir Mahe, was buried Saturday evening, December 28, 2024, at his residence on Moro Street, Adewole Estate, Ilorin, in accordance with Islamic rites. His passing earlier in the day at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) has been described as a significant loss to the state and its leadership.
The burial was attended by top dignitaries, including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who expressed deep grief over the loss of his close aide. The Governor described the late Chief of Staff as “a perfect gentleman, community leader, urbane public servant, and a statesman.” While offering prayers for the deceased, the Governor said, “This is a sad day for our administration. Prince Mahe was a great representative of our values and a key pillar of our team.”
Governor AbdulRazaq was joined at the burial by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, who referred to Mahe as “a peaceful man” and assured the family of his prayers during this difficult time.
In a condolence message, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, extended his sympathies to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the family of the deceased, and the government of Kwara State. Fagbemi described Mahe’s dedication to the progress of Kwara State as a shining example of service and urged the family to find comfort in the belief that he has attained eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
Governor AbdulRazaq, in a statement released earlier by his spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye, also prayed for the repose of Prince Mahe’s soul and for Almighty Allaah to grant the family and state the fortitude to bear the loss.
The late Chief of Staff’s contributions to the growth and stability of the state were acknowledged by many as a testament to his character and dedication. His death leaves a void in the administration and in the hearts of many who knew him. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
Kwara CAN Mourns a Statesman and Pillar of Service
The Kwara State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has joined the state in mourning the passing of Prince Abdulkadir Mahe, describing him as a statesman and a pillar of service to Kwara State.
In a condolence message signed by its Chairman, Rt. Rev. S.T.G. Adewole, CAN expressed admiration for Prince Mahe’s exceptional character and dedication to public service, noting that his unwavering support for the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his contributions to the growth and development of the state were exemplary. CAN called on the people of Kwara State to honor his legacy by fostering unity, service, and love for one another.
As the state mourns this great loss, CAN offered prayers for the family, the government, and all who are grieving, asking God to grant comfort and strength in this difficult time.
