A newly renovated four-block toilet facility with showers was officially commissioned today, Monday, October 27, 2025, in Onikanga Village, Ilorin South, by Corps Member Adeyeye Adejare Joshua, popularly known as Ceejay, who served with FlowFM 92.7 as his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
The commissioning ceremony was attended by representatives from the NYSC Kwara State Secretariat, including the Zonal Inspector standing in for State Coordinator Mr. Onifade, Local Government Inspector Mr. Oluwaseyi, CDS Supervisor Mrs. Joseph Omolola, and community leaders such as Alh. Abdurahman Uzman, the Magaji of Onikanga, and Engineer Muritala Ibrahim, Chairman of the Onikanga Community, alongside other residents.
The project received significant support from Flow FM 92.7, where Ceejay served during his NYSC year. He expressed gratitude to the station for providing a platform that amplified his vision, enabling him to address the village’s sanitation challenges and contribute to ending open defecation. He also appreciated the host community, the imam and mogajis, NYSC officials, and other contributors for their collaboration in bringing the initiative to fruition.
Speaking on behalf of the state coordinator, the zonal inspector described the project as a model for community development. He lauded Flow FM for its pivotal role in nurturing Ceejay’s talents and supporting the success of the initiative and also donating significantly to the success of the project. He reiterated that Flow FM has shown that media organizations can also be part of visible growth and social development in the community.
The event concluded with the Onikanga Community presenting Ceejay with a Certificate of Commendation, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and group photographs.
