The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has cleared multiple environmental blackspots across Computer Village, Onipanu, Okokomaiko, and Ikeja corridors, as the Authority continues its sustained sanitation drive across the State. The operations, which involved multiple trucks and sanitation crews, targeted medians, bus stops, walkways, and roadside locations where refuse had accumulated over time, restoring these public spaces to dignity.

In the Computer Village and Jibowu axis, evacuation operations were conducted at Underbridge Computer Village, the median in front of GIGM Jibowu, and Jibowu Roundabout opposite Zenith Bank, all of which were fully restored. The walkway along Onipanu opposite Police Station, Onipanu BRT bus stop, walkway along Onipanu opposite Shipeolu, and walkway along Aladiye bus stop were all cleared. Palm Grove Garage was also restored to cleanliness, bringing relief to residents and commuters along these busy corridors.

In the Okokomaiko and Cele Nicer axis, MO52 led a comprehensive cleanup of multiple locations, including Market Bus Stop median, Cele Nicer Spot Bin median, Opposite O’Gas Filling Station Cele Nicer, Zone 2 Bus Stop median, and Okokomaiko market median spot 1. Suco Road median okooba was also cleared, while BRT lane opposite Police Station Okokomaiko was restored. Work continued at Toll Gate with leftover waste requiring additional attention.

In the Ikeja axis, Oyetubo Street, Steadfast Olowu Bus Stop, and Kodesho Bridge wall were all cleared before and after evacuation. These interventions have brought relief to residents and commuters along these busy commercial and institutional corridors, where waste accumulation had become a major challenge.

The operations reflect LAWMA’s unwavering commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, as the Authority continues to deploy resources across the State to ensure that no community is left behind in the pursuit of a cleaner Lagos. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring that all residents and businesses comply with sanitation regulations. Residents are encouraged to support these efforts by patronising approved PSP operators and avoiding indiscriminate waste disposal, as environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
