… Tokunbo Wahab reaffirms commitment to maintaining order 

 The Lagos State Environmental Task Force carried out a special operation on Monday, Dec. 16, targeting individuals constituting public nuisance across key areas of the metropolis.

The operation, which focused on major routes such as Alfred Rewane, Osborne, Alexandra, and Bourdillon Roads in Ikoyi, as well as the Lekki-Ajah express corridor in Victoria Island, sought to curb the growing issue of street begging and miscreants causing disruptions in these areas.

During the exercise, 17 individuals, including eight minors, were apprehended for engaging in street begging and related unlawful activities at traffic hold-ups.

The Lagos State government has consistently expressed concern over the risks posed by such activities, both to public safety and the well-being of the individuals involved.

According to the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, all suspects will be transferred to appropriate government facilities in accordance with the state’s laws.

This action, Wahab emphasized, aligns with ongoing efforts to maintain order and improve the quality of life in Lagos.
