…Reassures Stakeholders of Inclusive Education Policy

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has assured members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) that the Students’ Loan Funds policy will include all eligible students. Gbajabiamila gave this assurance during a meeting with a NANS delegation led by its president, Lucky Emonefe, on Wednesday.

Gbajabiamila emphasized that the scheme aims to ensure that no student, regardless of their financial circumstances, is deprived of access to quality education. He reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to the successful implementation of the scheme, announcing that the program would be launched within the next few weeks.

“We are determined to ensure that no student is left behind when it comes to education,” Gbajabiamila stated. He also appealed to Nigerians to support the initiative, stressing the importance of ensuring that all genuinely needy students can benefit from the loan scheme.

Gbajabiamila acknowledged that while the policy has been generally well-received, there may be some opposition from certain segments of society. “This policy is for the Nigerian student; it is to make sure that no student is left behind when it comes to education,” he reiterated.

The Chief of Staff also assured the students that the government is actively working to prevent any potential industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). He explained that the government is addressing the issues concerning the union to avert any disruptions to the academic calendar.
