As we mark the first year of your transition to higher glory, we remain cognisant of the significance the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe family has always accorded to numbers. One, in its perfect singularity and by being the ultimate source of all numbers, represents a recognition of a new existence in God’s divine presence. It is a new beginning, borne from the last year in which we had to contend with an equally new reality: while you are now not with us physically, your presence, in God’s Holy and immaculate light, continues to live on.
In perfect submission to the will of God, you always knew that you were simply a manifestation of the Glory of God and His Divine Intelligence. With unfeigned humility, you accounted yourself to be no more than a grateful servant of God and a vessel through which His infinite grace flowed. This, more than anything, has allowed us, in the past year, to reawaken ourselves to the imperative need for each one of us to construct nobility of character in imitation of divinity.
As we reflect on the past year, we are grateful for the blessing of always being reminded of the ways in which God made manifest His Glory through you. You cemented an irreplaceable mark, not just in the Nigerian film industry, but in African cinema. Assured of our firm belief that personality survives death, we know your legacy lives on, under God’s grace.
Perhaps more importantly, we have come to view ourselves as immensely blessed for having you as an integral member of the family, whose unwavering strength and steadfast commitment to unity and togetherness propelled us forward even in the most difficult of times.
To the extent that we have acquired a holistic perspective of existence as an infinite phenomenon, we remain hopeful in the promise of eternal life. Thus, with renewed admiration for the life you lived during your earthly sojourn and fervent hope that God gives us the grace to continue to honour your life and legacy, we ask that He continues to bless and keep you in His heavenly presence.
By His infinite mercies and graces, we know that only His goodness and mercy followed you all the days of your life and that you now dwell in His house forever where the light of His countenance shines on you evermore.
Signed
The Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Family
